Our Top 5 Claim Tips
General
1. Make a claim as soon as is practical after an accident or event leading to a loss.
2. Make every effort to minimise loss and further damage after an event.
Liability
3. Do not admit liability or offer to reimburse or pay for damage or loss without the agreement of your insurer.
Motor
4. Make sure you get all the relevant details of any third party involved in an accident or claimable event. This includes all contact details, vehicle registration and insurance details.
Professional Risks
5. Don’t wait until a writ arrives before advising the insurer of an incident that may give rise to a claim. These policies are a ‘claims made policy’ and must be notified to the insurer in the same policy period as they became known. If this does not occur the insurer may deny the claim.
